At Purely Vasectomies, we prioritize your comfort and understanding of the vasectomy process. Here’s a step-by-step guide to what you can expect before, during, and after your vasectomy procedure:
Initial Phone Call: During your first phone call, our team will explain the Purely Vasectomies’ vasectomy procedure, and answer any questions you might have. We consider this initial phone call our opportunity to providing everything you need to make a comfortable and informed decision about having a vasectomy.
Pre-Procedure Preparation: Once you decide to proceed, we’ll provide you with detailed instructions and support on how to prepare for the procedure. This includes information on medications, hygiene, procedure preparation, and even what to bring with you on the day of your vasectomy.
The Vasectomy Procedure: On the day of the procedure, our friendly staff will make sure you’re comfortable and prepared for your vasectomy. The procedure itself is quick, painless, and usually takes about 30 minutes to complete. Our urologic surgeons only use the most advanced techniques to ensure minimal discomfort and a faster recovery time.
During your vasectomy, and after the area has been completely numbed, our board-certified surgeons will make a very small incision in your scrotum. From there, they will access the tiny tube that carries sperm from the testicle, known as the vas deferens, and cut and cauterize it to block sperm from entering your semen during ejaculation. The incision is then closed with a single stitch.
Post-Procedure Care: After your vasectomy, we’ll provide you with clear instructions on how to care for yourself at home, including tips on pain management and activity restrictions. Purely Vasectomies’ all-inclusive process is specifically designed to address all of your individual post-vasectomy recovery questions and concerns as they arise.
