Vasectomy Procedure in Peoria

Our Purely Vasectomies vasectomy procedure starts with a comprehensive phone call, with our experienced, passionate, and understanding team. In that call we will explain every step of our vasectomy procedure, discuss your post-vasectomy recovery plan, and share our all-inclusive, fully transparent pricing model with you. Our team will also take the time to address any concerns and answer any questions you may have about your upcoming vasectomy procedure.

Our complete vasectomy process, including initial consultation and the actual procedure, will take just about one hour to complete.

Since your initial consultation and the actual vasectomy procedure is completed in the same location, at our modern and well-equipped vasectomy clinic near Peoria, Arizona, you even have the convenient and time-saving option of scheduling your consultation and vasectomy procedures on the same day, should you be interested.

The goal of a vasectomy is to prevent sperm from entering your semen during ejaculation. To achieve this, our board-certified urologic surgeons use a minimally invasive surgical procedure to ensure that you quickly recover and that you are able to resume your normal activities as soon as possible.

After a small area of your scrotum has been prepped and completely numbed, one of our expert surgeons will make a tiny incision in your scrotum as a way to access the vas deferens (the tiny tube that carries sperm from the testicles). The vas deferens are then quickly and painlessly cut and cauterized before closing the incision with a few dissolvable sutures or a small amount of medical glue.

Specifically designed to help you achieve your reproductive health goals, our vasectomy process experts provide the expert consultation and advice you need to feel comfortable, confident and cared for during your vasectomy consultation, procedure, and recovery process.

Vasectomy Recovery

As we’ll share in detail with you during your initial vasectomy consultation, it’s very common to experience minor discomfort and some slight swelling immediately after your vasectomy.

Fortunately, our years of experience with helping thousands of men quickly and comfortably recover from their vasectomy procedures have demonstrated that wearing an athletic supporter to relieve pressure from your incision, taking over-the-counter pain medication, and applying ice packs to the area will help to minimize these discomforts during the first few days after surgery.

Most men find that they are able to go back to work and resume light activities one to two days after their vasectomy. In order to allow the area around your incision to completely heal, we recommend that you avoid strenuous exercise and heavy lifting for at least 7 to 10 days following your vasectomy.

Our Purley Vasectomies staff understands that each recovery process is a little different and our team is committed to addressing all of your post-vasectomy questions and concerns throughout our process which is designed to ensure a complete, successful, and comfortable recovery.

Vasectomy Cost in Arizona

Purely Vasectomies is committed to providing our patients with a transparent, fully inclusive pricing model that ensures affordable and competitive pricing while also guaranteeing the highest level of quality, service, and care with each step of your vasectomy.

Like most medical procedures today, the out-of-pocket cost of a vasectomy depends on a number of factors such as individual health insurance coverage, deductibles, co-pays, and co-insurance contributions. Considering this, and as you prepare for your vasectomy, our team is happy to partner with you and assist with addressing any health insurance-related questions or concerns that need to be addressed.

As part of your initial phone call, our experienced staff will share a complete breakdown of all costs involved in your vasectomy.

Our goal is to ensure a stress-free experience from the beginning to the end of your vasectomy experience. As part of this commitment, and as a way to help overcome any financial barriers, we are happy to accept multiple forms of payment, allowing you to remain focused on your primary focus of taking care of your reproductive health needs.

When Can I Resume Sexual Activity After A Vasectomy?

Following your vasectomy, we recommend refraining from sexual intercourse/ejaculation for at least one week. If your recovery is going as expected, you can resume sexual activity 10 to 12 days after your vasectomy.

However, a vasectomy is not immediately effective in preventing pregnancy. You will need the protection of alternative contraception until your doctor verifies through lab testing that there is no longer sperm present in your semen. For most men, completely clearing sperm from semen requires 50 ejaculations to achieve this.

Once lab testing confirms the absence of sperm in your semen, you can safely assume that your vasectomy is complete and will serve as an effective method of birth control.

What Is A “Scalpel-Less” Vasectomy?

A “scalpel-less’ ‘ vasectomy is not notably different from a regular vasectomy procedure. When our surgeons perform a “scalpel-less” vasectomy, they simply use scissors to puncture through the scrotum instead of a scalpel.

Both of these procedures, whether using a scalpel or scissors, result in an incision that is required to locate the vas deferens.

Since both techniques are utilized by our Purely Vasectomies team, we typically use the option that results in the smallest incision for the specific patient. This decision is made after an initial examination and discussed with you prior to your vasectomy procedure.

Are There Any Sutures Or Stitches That Need To Be Removed?

Although it’s common to close your vasectomy incision with sutures or stitches, they
will not need to be removed and will dissolve after the area has healed. Rather than use
stitches, your surgeon might opt to use a small amount of medical glue.
