Once the area has been completely numbed, our skilled, board-certified surgeon will make a small incision in the scrotum in order to access the vas deferens (the tiny tubes that transport sperm). The vas deferens are then quickly and painlessly cut and cauterized to prevent the future passage of sperm during ejaculation. The small incision is then closed by using a single stich.

Our vasectomy procedures are more often described as uncomfortable than painful. While the anesthesia used in preparation for your vasectomy will prevent you from feeling any pain, it’s common to experience some slight discomfort and pressure as our medical experts are performing the procedure.
While we take great care to ensure the vasectomy procedure itself isn’t painful, like most minor surgical procedures, some mild discomfort during the first few days after surgery can be expected.

Following your vasectomy, we recommend refraining from sexual intercourse/ejaculation for at least 10 days. If your recovery is progressing as planned, you will be able to resume sexual activity 10 to 12 days after your procedure.
